MADRE:
No sabes dónde estoy...
mas sabes que me voy
de aquí.
Y que me llevo tu
mirada.
Nada ha de quedar,
nada he de dejar de
mi...
también me llevo la esperanza.
Hemos bebido tanto
el sol...
y hemos sembrado
tanto amor.
Y todo el tiempo
nos cabía entre los
dos...
pero hoy, nos
alejamos sin razón.
HIJO:
Yo no sé qué hacer,
ni con quién reír
sin vos.
Se ha oscurecido
nuestra casa.
MADRE:
Desde el ventanal
no verás igual, sin
mí,
la luz del sol en
las montañas.
Ni el cielo aquél
del que te hablaba;
ni el murmurar por
las mañanas.
Y esa costumbre
de abrazarnos porque
sí,
será un recuerdo... que me llevaré de aquí.

This song, written many years ago and in the form of a dialogue after my mother's departure, I decided to set to music at some point in the 90s. In the lyrics, very sad by the way, even today, 44 years after her death, I tried to to emphasize everything that had departed with her, her talks, her curiosities, her own light and her unique way of showing her love. And what finally felt what had remained in me: an empty, dark and lifeless house, despite my father and all my brothers.
And the image that accompanies the text is precisely the house I am talking about today.
OUR
GOODBYE
(January 1979)
MOTHER:
You don't know where I am...
but you know that I'm leaving
here.
And that I take your look.
Nothing has to remain
I have nothing to leave me...
I also take hope.
We have drunk so much the
sun...
and we have sown so much love.
and all the time
it was between the two of
us...
but today, we drifted away for
no reason.
SON:
I do not know what to do,
nor with whom to laugh without
you.
Our house has darkened.
MOTHER:
From the window
you will not see the same,
without me,
sunlight in the mountains.
Not even the sky that I was
talking about;
nor gossiping in the mornings.
And that custom
to hug us because yes,
It will be a memory... that I
will take from here.
